Stefania Picelli's tweet "It's time for the YOKKAO World Title!” had the attention of many Muay Thai fans. Here's her official statement:
“Ever since the first YOKKAO event in 2012, we gave our fans fights that years later are still being watched. Youtube data speaks for itself; with over 9,000,000 views this shows how the brand has entered the heart of Muay Thai fans.
Retracing our events, we can say that the best fighters in the world have fought in our ring: Buakaw Banchamek, Giorgio Petrosyan, Andy Souwer, Saenchai, Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee, Yodsanklai, Mickael Piscitello, Bennoui brothers, Kem Sitsongpeenong, Fabio Pinca and many others.
In the last edition of YOKKAO in UK, the match between Liam Harrison and Houcine Bennoui was regarded by fans as the "match of the year,” as was the Kem Sitsongpeenong vs Yosanklai fight held in Pattaya back in December of 2012.
I have been asked repeatedly by fans and fighters, and now it's time to determine who is the world YOKKAO champion. After the fulfillment of the last YOKKAO event in UK, we are now returning to the UK to inaugurate the first two world YOKKAO champions.
The first YOKKAO world titles will be held at YOKKAO 10 and 11, respectively, with Jordan Watson facing Mickael Piscitello (-70kg) and Pakorn PK MuayThaiGym fighting Greg Wootton (-65kg)."
The News does not end there, YOKKAO is also planning to release a ranking system for the UK in conjunction with the launch of the website www.yokkao.co.uk that will be run by Jack Bolam, exclusive distributor of the YOKKAO brand in England and Ireland.
