Manachai Delivers Dominating Victory at Channel 7 Stadium!
One of the most anticipated fights for the start of 2018 had been none other than the Channel 7 147lbs title bout between Manachai and Pongsiri PKSaenchaiGym. Regrettably the title was scraped a day before the fight. The reason given by the organizers was that Manachai would be making his Channel 7 stadium debut. This supposedly did not qualify him for the title, even though there have been precedents where fighters who were making their debut actually competed in title bouts.

Despite taking away the prized belt from the match, Manachai remained undeterred and motivated. He came out strong right from the first round with loud, chopping leg kicks that could be heard from miles. Pongsiri was definitely no pushover and returned the favor with equally blistering punches. Round 4 developed into an all-out war with a furious exchange of stabbing knees and hard punches. Manachai outclassed his opponent with a series of skillful takedowns that had the crowds roaring in approval. By the end of the round, it was more or less clear that Manachai would be going home with the win. Pongsiri attempted to chase the fight in the last round but it was in vain as Manachai’s hand was raised as expected when the final bell went off, winning the game on points.
With the entire YOKKAO crew and a loyal band of fans turning up to show support, Manachai put up an amazing fight and did not disappoint. The battle is of very important significance for the young Manachai. Pongsiri is widely recognized as one of the most lethal welterweight fighters in the circuit. He has held the Channel 7 as well as the prestigious Lumpinee titles and has trained out of arguably one of the best camp in Thailand, PK Saenchai Gym. Manachai’s victory is proof that he is now among the best fighters in his weight class and a force to be reckoned with in the Muay Thai scene.
On the same note, fellow YOKKAO Fight Team member, Nobita fought in the immediate bout after Manachai and turned in a superb performance of his own. After 5 rounds of intense battle, Nobita took the win via decision to make it a double-victory at Channel 7 stadium for the YOKKAO Fight Team. YOKKAO has been on a winning streak with an exceptional 5 knockout victories in 5 separate competitions since the start of the year. The double-victory extends the streak which the Fight Team will now be looking to prolong.
